.

March 3, 2010...Frosty had a white boy and a black & white girl.  Aren't they sweet?

March 5, 2010 at 1 am, Patches had twins.... white boy and spotted girl.  Another cutie!  Patches is the mother to the ewe in the picture above...Frosty... that is why the little girl looks so much like Patches. Patches looked just like that when she was a baby.  Patches babies got the pink sweat shirt!

There have been many births since the last posting of pictures....have not caught up....yet!!!

This is Flash and her little girl.  Flash's baby arrived March 9

This is Almond and her twin.... they are soo cute.  Can you guess who is called 'Pokeadot'?  They were born March 11.

Kiss's twins arrived on March 11 also.... two little girls!

This is a group shot of some of the lambs and mammas...couldn't get them all in one shot... but if you go to the 'New arrivals in Action'... you can see more of the lambs and they are running around, having fun....like little lambs do!  Can you see the one lamb standing on mom's back?

This is Carol's triplets from March 20.  Carol had two white boys and a little black girl.  Not a great picture... but they are still cute!

Squeal had quads on March 21.  Three white girls and one white boy.  They are all about the same size and are all still doing well.  They all have little jackets on... it was cold that day.

Winny had triplets on March 22.  Two black girls and a black boy.  They are all doing good too!

As of today.... there have been 90 lambs born..... with about 12 ewes still to have lambs.  Today is March 23,2010.

Sadie...my Australia Shepherd... has always thought she was the mamma to all the lambs... So she has taken over as surrogate mother to the orphan lambs.  She cleans up their butts and faces...(in that order).

Mimic had triplets...one big lamb and smaller lamb and a tiny lamb.  The two smaller lambs would not nurse from their mother, so they came to the house to be tube feed.
These two little lambs have been in my big dog kennel, since their birth March 18th... I had to tube feed them for the first day and a half....the boy...the one standing.... finally took to the nipple...and took off.  He was frolicking around the porch...so went down to the barn this morning March 22.  The little girl...laying on her side....was tube fed for 5 days, would not take the nipple...and had given her up for gone yesterday (3-22).  She appeared to be on her last leg.  When her brother was taken to the barn, yesterday...she lifted her head up and cried.  I went back to her and tried one more time with the nipple...this time she sucked....and sucked a little more.... and a little more... when she was finally done...she had drank about a cup of milk.... a few hours later...she cried...I checked on her...she was up and walking around....has been sucking from the bottle since.... I think she will make it!  I guess she will go out to the barn later today...to join her brother in the orphan pen.  Mamma will not take her and her brother after this much time has past.... so their other brother will be raised as an only lamb!

I love my sheep, and lambing....but it can be very heart wrenching, too!

This is the little lamb that I had almost given up on... she sure looks different than the picture I took of her yesterday.

Things started happening too fast....and have not been able to add more pictures... will get back to it soon.  As of March 28th, all lambs have been born for this year!  The total was 98 lambs born!  A few did not make it...But most did!  All of the bottle lambs have been adopted to good homes!  I will continue adding pictures of the lambs as they grow and play!  So...keep checking back!  But in the mean time.... check out the new arrivals page... video clips of lambs frolicking!!!
